1. What this service is
EnergySorted is an indicative energy tool for Australian residential and small business consumers. It compares electricity and gas plans by reading the usage information from a bill you upload (or enter manually), costing that usage against publicly available retailer plan data, and ranking the results from cheapest to most expensive. It also provides a fuel-price map (drawn from third-party and government data sources), bill tracking and analytics with next-bill forecasts and alerts, and an AI advisor ("Ask EnergySorted") that answers questions about your bills and plans. The AI advisor produces general information only, not advice.
2. Estimates only — not financial or energy advice
Every figure shown is an estimate built from the usage you provide and the plan data available to us at the time. This applies to electricity and gas comparisons, fuel-price data, next-bill forecasts, and any answer produced by the AI advisor. Nothing here is financial advice, energy advice, or a quote from any retailer. Before switching plans, you must confirm the current rates, fees and terms directly with the retailer — a plan shown here may no longer be available or may differ from what the retailer ultimately offers you. See our Disclaimer.
3. No warranty
We make reasonable efforts to keep plan data current and to model each plan's cost structure accurately, but the service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including as to accuracy, completeness or availability of the comparison results, fuel-price data, forecasts or AI output. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability for loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the service.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
4. Accounts
If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us if you suspect unauthorised access. You can change your password at any time while signed in.
5. Acceptable use
Use the service only for its intended purpose — comparing energy plans for yourself or a household/business you are authorised to act for. Do not attempt to disrupt the service, scrape it at scale, upload content you do not have the right to share, or use it to build a competing product.
6. Intellectual property
All content on this site — including text, design, layout, graphics, logos, and the underlying software and cost-modelling — is owned by EnergySorted or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. You may view and use it for your personal, non-commercial use of the service. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, scrape or create derivative works from it without our prior written permission. Retailer names, logos and plan data remain the property of their respective owners and are used for comparison and identification only.
7. Third-party links and data
The site links to, and uses data from, third parties (including energy retailers, government sources and fuel price feeds). We do not control and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of third-party sites or data, and a link does not imply endorsement.
8. Changes to the service and these terms
We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the service (including plan coverage, features or availability) at any time without notice. We may also update these terms; the current version is always the one published here, with the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
