Trial, billing, and cancelling

What the trial includes, what you pay, how the guarantee works, and how to cancel.

The trial

The trial runs for 30 days and does not ask for a card. You get the full product during it, including the comparison, the analytics and the alerts. If you do nothing at the end, it simply stops — there is no automatic charge waiting for you.

What a subscription buys

A subscription is the only way EnergySorted makes money. There are no commissions from retailers, no referral fees and no paid placement, which is what allows a ranking to be built purely on what a plan would cost you.

Business customers are a separate subscription from household ones, because the plan set, the tariff structures and the GST treatment are genuinely different.

Cancelling

  1. Open your account settings.
  2. Choose to cancel the subscription.
  3. Access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for — cancelling does not cut you off mid-month.
  4. Your account and history remain, so you can reactivate later without starting again.

Deleting your data

Cancelling and deleting are different things. Cancelling stops the billing and keeps your account. Deleting removes your account and the data attached to it, including your usage history and any connected inverter credentials.

Frequently asked questions

Will I be charged when the trial ends?

No. The trial takes no card, so nothing can be charged automatically.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

It stays with your account so you can come back to it. If you want it gone, delete the account rather than cancelling.

Do you sell my data?

No. Your bills and usage are used to compare plans for you, and demographic analytics are opt-in and reported only in aggregate.
